Growing up as a PK “Preacher’s Kid”, Yolanda was a natural born leader. She has worked and trained in many aspects of leadership and ministry. She knows what it takes to yield exceptional performance and results for business and organizations.
She fell in love with the ability to help people realize their inner beauty and thrive from her resulting self-confidence. This passion came about at an early age.
A 19-year career in the spa and beauty industry was the perfect route for Yolanda, allowing her to transform people’s lives physically, mentally and spiritually.
Formerly she was in the heart of hospitality at one of the largest hotel companies in the country, Relache Spa at Gaylord Opryland. This experience gave her the opportunity to exercise resilience and exceptional leadership skills with employees. She managed to sustain a world-class team, create environments and revenue streams that grew the Spa’s profits year after year.
During this season at Relache, Yolanda spent a great deal of time networking and building relationships in the community and non-profit organizations.
In 2007, she found the Daughters of Destiny Ministry which serves and supports inner city girls from ages 8-18.
She has been very active in the community serving on numerous non-profit boards such as Past Chair of CABLE, the largest Women’s Professional Networking and Leadership Organization in Tennessee. She is also a Board Member for the YWCA of Middle Tennessee
She has been recognized with numerous awards: In 1995, she was crowned “Miss Black Tennessee.” In 2011 she won the Nashville Emerging Leader Award for Hospitality, 2012 CABLE Rising STAR Award, Nominee for the Young Professionals Athena Award, Service to Youth Award from the Parthenon Chapter of Links Inc. and 2014 Values Award from Gaylord Opryland Resort.
Yolanda’s passion to serve others started in the spa and beauty industry. As a step-in faith, she transitioned from Corporate America into Ministry where she served as the Director of Spiritual Development for Olive Branch Church.
It was at Olive Branch where Yolanda was able to exercise her servant leadership abilities. Her responsibilities included the creation of Life Groups, established an attractive and sustainable Teen and Youth Ministry along with planning various Christian Education workshops and seminars. While serving as a leader at Olive Branch, in 2016 she came to realize that a ministry really close to her heart was being birthed out of her and her husband Billy Jackson.
