Hailing from Dallas, TX, Cathy Irwin has spent most of her working life in Middle Tennessee, a graduate of Vanderbilt University and University of Tennessee – Knoxville. Cathy worked as a pediatric nurse for nearly 20 years in Nashville before entering the realm of education – clearly the health and wellbeing of children are a passion of hers. Her career in education began in 2004 becoming the Admissions Director at Battle Ground Academy in Franklin, TN, and it has continued at New Hope Academy, where she is now working in her 7th year. While still focusing on Admissions at New Hope, she has also taken on Community Relations (among other things), understanding the importance of being a good partner and resource for the community at large. Cathy’s personal mission aligns directly with that of New Hope’s, whose core values are “the promise of an excellent, classical education, the mission to the underprivileged, and the belief in a connected, purposeful community.” She has willingly dedicated her life to the service of others. Cathy has one son, Taylor Irwin, who also works at New Hope Academy as a Development Officer. She resides in Cool Springs with her two dogs, Murphy and Wally.
