Originally from Springfield, Tennessee, Verlinda Darden earned her undergraduate degree in Communications from the University of Tennessee: Knoxville. She received her Masters of Public Administration degree from Tennessee State University; College of Public Service.

As a Policy Project Coordinator for the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, Verlinda works closely with the Metropolitan Nashville Council to ensure favorable legislation is passed on behalf of the its member businesses. With education being a top priority, she also works with Metro Nashville Public Schools and other community partners ensuring a quality education for all students. Prior to the Nashville Area Chamber, Verlinda was the Williamson Business PAC liaison and Events Coordinator for Williamson Inc. (Williamson Co. Chamber of Commerce).

Outside of work Verlinda is a community organizer, serving as a board member for Moves and Grooves Inc., a nonprofit committed to enhancing the lives of at-risk youth through arts and education within the Metro Nashville area. She is a past executive board member of the Bransford Revitalization Board, Clerisy Circle and the Equity Alliance. Verlinda is most proud of her work as a former board member of the Bransford Revitalization Board in her hometown of Springfield, TN, where she helped reform the Bransford Community Center community outreach and social services platform. She looks forward to the future development of its new state- of -art facility.
