Leah Dupree is a native of Jackson, TN and made Nashville her permanent home in 2011. Before relocating to Nashville, Leah lived in Indianapolis, Indiana. She is a former Legislative Intern for the Tennessee General Assembly, Discretionary Grant Reviewer for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Law Clerk for the Indiana Attorney General’s Office, and Eligibility Coordinator for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
Currently, Leah serves in the Haslam Administration as Director of Legislative Services for the Department of General Services. She is responsible for legislation and constituent services for the Department. Prior to moving to the Executive Branch, Leah served in the Legislative Branch as a Legislative Aide to Senator Doug Overbey. In 2016, Leah began teaching Business Law at Tennessee State University.

Leah has always been committed to service. In 2015, she ran for Metro Council District 21 with a campaign that centered on preserving the unique legacy of District 21 while enhancing it for the 21st century. While unsuccessful, Leah stays committed to and involved in the community. This experience launched other opportunities. She is a member of the 2018 cohort of Emerge Tennessee which is a premier campaign-training program for women in the state.

Leah serves as the Chair of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee Black Achievers Board and serves as a council member for the Tennessee Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration. She is a member of the National Bar Association, Napier Looby Bar Association, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Hendersonville Area Chapter of The Links, Inc., and Women in Numbers (WIN).

Leah attends Lee Chapel A.M.E. Church where she serves as a Greeter and member of the Guiding Light Club, which promotes, guides, and offers financial assistance to Lee Chapel A.M.E. Church youth in support of their Christian endeavors.

Leah enjoys speaking to youth about career paths and personal development. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Tennessee State University; a Masters in Business Administration from Valparaiso University, and a Juris Doctorate from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.
