Joseph Harwell is a dedicated, loyal and effective leader with more than two decades of successful experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry. An excellent communicator, his leadership style is hands-on, professional and always focused on the development of his staff. But ultimately, Joseph is results oriented and holds himself and others accountable to high benchmarks of success.
While in college at the University of Tennessee at Martin, Joseph began his career in the restaurant industry by tending bar at the American Legion. He moved to Nashville in 1998 to bartend at several high-end hotels. When the Rainforest Cafe opened at Opry Mills in 2000, Joseph was part of the leadership team who helped launch the restaurant. It was here, as Lead Bar-tender that he learned the corporate side of the business. In 2005, Joseph was hired to assist Pei Wei Asian Diner with their first outlet in Tennessee. He moved quickly through the ranks to the position of Mentoring General Manager, followed by 3 years in multi-unit management and catering while continuing to fully control his unit.
Currently, Joseph holds the position of Managing Partner for Blue Coast Burrito. In 2012, he came on board with Blue Coast to open their new restaurant in downtown Nashville’s historic St. Cloud Building. After four years, he transferred to the Cool Springs store, as he resides in Franklin, Tennessee.
Over the years Joseph has donated time and resources to many charitable organizations but takes the most pride and enjoyment in working with schools.
When not working, Joseph enjoys football, boating and anything involving time with his loved ones.
