Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Crystal Churchwell graduated from University School of Nashville and earned her undergraduate degree in Art History from Wellesley College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. She graduated from the Vanderbilt University Owen Graduate School of Management where she concentrated in Strategy and Marketing. She was an executive board member of the Women’s Business Association and the Owen Black Student Association.
Crystal Churchwell is the Associate Director of Development at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts where she oversees both earned and contributed revenue from individual giving, upper-level memberships, corporate sponsorships, grants (foundation and government), and venue rental. Prior to joining the Frist Center, Crystal worked in brand marketing for various multi-national Fortune 500 companies. Her marketing career includes brands such as Heinz tomato ketchup (H. J. Heinz Company), Scrubbing Bubbles (S.C. Johnson & Son), and, most recently, Pedigree (Mars Petcare).
Outside of her work, Crystal serves as a board member for Friends of the Hubbard House (a joint initiative between Meharry Medical College and the United Methodist Church) and the Nashville Wellesley Club. She is past auction chair for the 2017 Power of the Purse for the Women’s Fund. She is active with the PENCIL reading clinic program at Robert Churchwell Museum Magnet Elementary School, the Rotary Club of Nashville, and the Wellesley College Alumnae Association as a class representative. Crystal is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Andre L. Churchwell.
